Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to a website every visitor can use.

Effective date: September 9, 2026.

The Law Office of Ashley R. Vasquez wants everyone — including people who use assistive technology — to be able to read this website, learn about their rights, and reach the firm. Accessibility is treated as part of the site's design, not an afterthought.

Our Standard

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. As part of full reviews completed in July and September 2026, every page of this site was tested with automated accessibility tooling (axe-core) at fifteen screen sizes from small phones to large desktops, alongside manual keyboard testing. WCAG 2.2 additions — minimum target sizes for controls, focus that is never hidden behind the sticky header or cookie banner, and consistent placement of contact help — are part of the design.

What This Site Does

  • Every page can be navigated by keyboard, including the menus, FAQ accordions, contact form, and the cookie-consent banner, with visible focus indicators throughout.
  • A "Skip to main content" link is the first element on every page.
  • Text colors meet WCAG AA contrast requirements against their backgrounds.
  • Images that convey information have text alternatives; decorative flourishes are hidden from screen readers.
  • Animations are disabled for visitors whose devices request reduced motion.
  • The layout adapts from 320-pixel phone screens to large desktop displays without loss of content or function.
  • Headings, landmarks, and form labels are structured for screen-reader navigation.

Known Limitations

Faint decorative watermark words appear behind some sections. They are intentionally low-contrast, purely ornamental, and hidden from assistive technology. The Google Map on the home and contact pages loads only when you choose to load it; it is provided by Google, and its internal accessibility is controlled by Google. The office address is always provided as text alongside it.
