This Privacy Policy explains what information the Law Office of Ashley R. Vasquez ("the firm," "we") handles through this website, ashleyvasquezlaw.com, and the choices you have. We keep it deliberately plain: this is a small law-firm website. It has one contact form, one optional analytics cookie you can decline, and no advertising, tracking pixels, or data sales of any kind.
Information You Send Us
The only information this website collects directly from you is what you type into the contact form: your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of case you select (optional), and your message. When you submit the form, that information is sent by email to the firm's office inboxes. It is not stored in the website's database.
The form also includes a hidden anti-spam field that real visitors never see; it collects nothing from people.
Please remember, as the notice above the form explains: submitting the form does not create an attorney–client relationship, and you should not include confidential details in a first message.
Payments
This website does not collect or process payments. The "Make a Payment" links take you to LawPay (AffiniPay, LLC), a payment service used by law firms. Any payment information you enter is provided directly to LawPay on its own website under its own privacy policy — this website never sees or stores your card or bank details.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies at all until you interact with the cookie banner. The complete list of cookies it can set:
- av_consent — a strictly functional first-party cookie that remembers your Accept/Decline choice on the cookie banner, for about 180 days. This is the only cookie that does not require your consent, because it exists solely to honor your choice.
- _ga and _ga_XG2ME402CV — Google Analytics cookies, set only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. They help us understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site (which pages are read, how people arrive). IP addresses are anonymized. If you decline — or simply ignore the banner — Google Analytics never loads and these cookies are never set. The website works identically either way.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. If you switch from Accept to Decline, the analytics cookies this site can reach are deleted.
Global Privacy Control & Do Not Track
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an automatic "Decline": the cookie banner is not shown and analytics never loads. Older "Do Not Track" browser signals never became a standard; we do not respond to DNT as such, but because analytics is off by default until you accept, the practical effect is the same.
Third-Party Services on This Site
Loading a web page requires fetching resources; this site keeps third parties to a minimum. Typefaces and icons are served from this website itself, not from a third party. The complete list:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — only if you accept, as described above.
- Google Maps (Google LLC) — an interactive map of our office location, available on the home and contact pages. Nothing is requested from Google until you press "Load map". Once loaded, the map comes from Google's servers, and Google may use its own cookies inside the map frame under its own privacy policy.
Links to external sites — Avvo, Facebook, Instagram, LawPay, Google Maps directions — take you to those services, which operate under their own privacy policies.
Server Logs
Like virtually all websites, the server that hosts this site keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are maintained by our hosting provider and are not used to identify or profile visitors.
How We Use and Share Information
Information from the contact form is used for one purpose: responding to your inquiry and, where appropriate, running a conflict-of-interest check before any consultation.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only to the service providers listed above (who process it on our behalf), or if required by law, court order, or applicable rules of professional conduct.
Retention
Contact-form submissions arrive as email and are retained in the firm's email system in accordance with the firm's file-retention practices and professional-responsibility obligations. The consent cookie expires after about 180 days; Google Analytics data is retained under the settings of our analytics account.
Your Rights
You may ask us, at any time, to tell you what personal information we hold about you from this website, to correct it, or to delete it. To make a request, email Ashley@AshleyVasquezLaw.com or call (916) 572-8420. So that we do not act on someone else's request about your information, we will verify your identity — typically by confirming details of your prior contact with us — before fulfilling a request. We will never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right: your choice has no effect on the services or attention you receive.
Note that information connected to an actual or prospective legal representation is governed by attorney–client privilege and the firm's professional obligations, which may limit or override deletion requests.
Children
This website is directed to adults seeking legal services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and the contact form submits over that same encrypted connection. No transmission method is perfectly secure, which is one more reason not to send confidential details through the form.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how this website handles information — for example, by adding a new service or form — we will update this policy and its effective date. Material changes will be noted here. The version on this page is always the current one.
